Amber Heard Rejects Johnny Depp’s Lawyer’s Claim He Didn’t Support His Sobriety

Amber Heard has rejected claims made by Johnny Depp’s legal team that she was unable to support her ex-husband’s sobriety because he sometimes drank and used drugs in his company.

The court in Fairfax, Virginia, heard an intense exchange Tuesday morning between the aquaman actress and lawyer Camille Vasquez as Depp’s team sought to tear apart Heard’s testimony.

Ms. Vasquez questioned why Ms. Heard did not stop drinking wine or using drugs in front of her husband, who she claimed was an addict.

“Have you repeatedly testified that you were concerned about Mr. Depp’s substance abuse during your relationship?” the lawyer said.

When Ms. Heard answered yes, Ms. Vasquez scoffed, “But I wasn’t worried enough to stop using drugs and alcohol.”

Ms Heard testified that she only took drugs twice in Mr Depp’s company at the beginning of their relationship in 2013 and has already testified about that in court.

“So you never changed your own behavior to support Mr. Depp and support his sobriety?” Mrs. Vasquez continued.

Ms. Heard said that she did not stop drinking wine with him, but rather supported him in many other ways to try to help him with his sobriety.

“I made a lot of changes to support his sobriety. I tried everything I could think of,” she said.

The court was shown a preliminary schedule for the couple’s wedding weekend in the Bahamas, which included a plan to have a drug party.

The draft read “7 p.m. rehearsal dinner” followed by “after: dance party, drugs, and music.”

“So you planned to have drugs at your wedding with someone you characterized as a drug addict?” the lawyer questioned.

Ms. Heard responded by saying that “the schedule ended up changing.”

“So your original idea was to get stoned on an island after your rehearsal dinner with the drug-fueled monster you were about to marry?” Ms. Vasquez asked.

Mrs. Heard said that there was going to be grass on the island and that there were magic mushrooms at her bridal party on the island before the wedding.

He admitted that he sometimes liked to take drugs on special occasions.

Depp sues his ex-wife for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote washington post where she described herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”

The pirates of the Caribbean The actor is not named in the article, which is titled “I have spoken out against sexual violence and faced the wrath of our culture. That has to change.”

However, Depp claims that it falsely implies that he is a domestic abuser, something he adamantly denies, and has left him struggling to land roles in Hollywood. He is suing for $50 million.

Ms Heard is countersuing for $100 million, accusing Mr Depp of orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her and describing his lawsuit as a continuation of “abuse and harassment”.
