Amber Heard testified on Monday (May 16) that Johnny Depp forcibly strangled her while they were on their honeymoon in 2015.

Ms Heard returned to the stand on Monday after the trial resumed after a week-long break, describing how Mr Depp allegedly strangled her as they traveled on the Orient Express train, from Bangkok to Singapore, for their honeymoon. of honey.

Ms Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, began her cross-examination by showing the jury a photo of the former couple on board the train.

“When I finish pirates of the caribbean 5, the plan was that we do this honeymoon. She was walking on eggshells a little bit because she knew a pattern, but she didn’t want to accept that we had reverted to a pattern at all,” replied Ms Heard, 35.

“And I remember thinking that he couldn’t even mean to kill me, you know, I remember being afraid that he didn’t even mean to,” Ms Heard told the court.

She also testified that Mr. Depp “ripped the top of my shirt” at one point and “I remember one breast was exposed.”

“At some point, I pull on the lapel of his shirt and he rips it off and wraps it around my neck,” she said, adding, “This is how I woke up the next morning. I woke up with it still around my neck.”

Depp’s security guard, Malcolm Connelly, spoke of the honeymoon on the Orient Express when he testified in the couple’s libel trial on behalf of the actor via video link from his home in Essex, UK.

Connelly testified that he took the photo Ms Heard mentioned in her testimony on Monday and noted that Mr Depp had swelling under his eye.

“He has entered a door, or a door has entered him,” he said at the time.

After her direct testimony, Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, questioned Ms Heard. Ms Heard is expected to return to the stand for further questions from Mr Depp’s lawyers on Tuesday (May 17).
