Battlefield 2042 Update 4.1 Patch Notes Detailed Changes Coming to FPS

Despite the declining player base and ongoing frustrations among its community, support for battlefield 2042 continued from developer EA DICE. On Wednesday, May 18, Electronic Arts announced the upcoming release of battlefield 2042patch 4.1 from . The update makes a number of small fixes, as well as one larger change that may surprise some. battlefield 2042 players. The biggest change is the now-confirmed removal of the 128-player Breakthrough mode, albeit only on certain platforms.

DICE confirmed today that it will be removing the 128-player version of Breakthrough from battlefield 2042of All-Out Warfare, but only for the ecosystem of gamers on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The decision, according to EA Dice, was made because “128-player modes are a better fit for Conquest.” Additionally, EA DICE believes that the 64-player version of Breakthrough offers a “more tactical experience.” No comment was made about the lack of players that contributed to the decision to end Breakthrough support at 128 players on these platforms.

To clarify, this is not the removal of all 128-player game modes in battlefield 2042, nor is it the removal of Breakthrough from 128 players on all platforms. 128-player Conquest will continue to be available in the future, as well as 128-player Breakthrough in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One cross-play ecosystem. So while EA SAYS can say this decision was made for gameplay reasons, the decision it seems to be driven by the decline in players on PC and next-gen consoles.

Outside of the Breakthrough changes, three other key changes have been made. First, Boris’s SG-36 Sentry Gun has had its damage reduced. Second, Angel is now unable to drop armor plates through his supply bag. Then third, the recoil for standard weapons has been improved, and attachments now have slightly reduced recoil enhancements. Suffice to say, these are minor changes alongside the Breakthrough decision.

While those are the key changes from EA DICE, there are a number of other fixes and balance changes that will also be implemented as part of the update. That includes adjustments to weapons, vehicles, specialists, gadgets, and more. The update will be officially released tomorrow, May 19, and is the last patch before the release of battlefield 2042Season 1 update in early June.

Patch 4.1 is not going to be the patch battlefield 2042 players are necessarily looking for. But it is also true that most of the players are only waiting for Season 1 of battlefield 2042 get there before thinking about the game again. There is a lot of work to be done to regain player trust if EA DICE even plans to make the attempt. 4.1 won’t change any sentiment, but hopefully it means a more stable experience for Season 1, when it really matters.

battlefield 2042 It is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
