“Morbius,” the latest film in Sony’s “Spider-Man” franchise, is now available to stream on demand through services like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Vudu. As of May 17, “Morbius” is only available to purchase for $20, but a cheaper rental version should be available June 14.

Like the “Morbius” comics, the film tells the story of Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto), a researcher who hopes to cure his rare blood-borne disease. Morbius develops a treatment, but is mistakenly transformed into a living vampire with superhuman abilities and a lust for blood. Morbius ultimately becomes a fugitive as he struggles to control his bloodlust, while one of his closest friends, played by “Doctor Who” veteran Matt Smith, decides to use the treatment for more selfish purposes.
