Karim Benzema has been absolutely unplayable this year, and continues to produce the ‘wow’ moments that make it everyone’s choice to win this year’s prestigious Ballon D’Or award.
Benzema broke the hearts of Manchester City just over a week ago when his extra-time penalty sent Carlo Ancelotti’s side to another Champions League final.
As Pep Guardiola chases his first Champions League title at City, Benzema now has a chance to win his fifth with the Spanish giants.
Despite the fact that there are 15 days to go until the final and the LaLiga title is already assured, Ancelotti did not hold back in selecting his team for Thursday’s game against bottom side Levante.
With Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde on the pitch, it was Benzema who once again grabbed the spotlight.
A first-half goal from the Frenchman took him to a total of 323 goals for Los Blancos, putting him tied for second place with Raul in Madrid’s all-time scoring charts.
Benzema’s show climaxed in the second half, showing his best imitation of former Madrid and Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario, who stood out for his dance and calm when facing the goalkeeper in one-on-one situations.
Benzema picked up a pass that split Modric’s defense on his stride to take on Levante goalkeeper Daniel Cárdenas, the striker showing great skill and composure to calmly surround Cárdenas and set up an easy touch for Vinicius to score.
His impressive skills licked the applause on the ground, but also on social networks. Many fans purred on Twitter as Benzema dazzled the Levante defense. With one fan labeling Benzema as ‘improving Ronaldo with a pinch of Zidane’.

That’s a piece of magic from Real Madrid! 😱

Vinicius later added his third goal of the night and the team’s sixth goal as Madrid produced a performance that will have Jurgen Klopp and his team worried ahead of their much-anticipated meeting in Paris as the two teams battle for the European crown.
Benzema is the top scorer in both LaLiga and the Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or will surely be on his way if he and Madrid beat Liverpool on May 28.
