Mafia 4 is reported to feature young Don Salieri in 1900s Sicily

Hangar 13’s Mafia 4 will reportedly be set in 1900s Sicily and revert to a familiar character from previous entries.

Expert Nick Baker shared some snippets about the upcoming Mafia game during the latest XboxEra podcast. According to the leaker, Mafia 4 will be a prequel to the first installment of Illusion Softworks and the recent remake of Hangar 13. The new project will take place about 30 years before the events that occurred in the city of Lost Heaven.

This upcoming game will not return players to the usual settings, but rather give you the great Italian island of Sicily to explore. Fans of the series have already visited this region in Mafia 2, just for one mission. During the prologue, Vito Scaletta participated in military operations in southern Italy in 1943. This time, however, you will freely explore the huge region in the early 20th century, so you should feel very differently.

Another thing Nick Baker claims to have heard is that Mafia 4 will follow the story of the rise of the Salieri family, including the main appearance of the young Ennio Salieri. Players will take on the role of one of his loyal gangsters, dedicated to bringing power and success to the mafia family. Mafia 4 will maintain the classic mission structure seen in Mafia 2 and Mafia: Definitive Edition.

As fans will remember, Don Ennio Salieri originally appeared in the first Mafia game. The leader of the Salieri crime family recruits Tommy Angelo, quickly realizing that Tommy can be a valuable asset against Morello during the ongoing mob war of the 1930s. At the end of the game, Salieri is sentenced to prison. life after Tommy testified against him in court. Despite incarcerating him, Salieri had his revenge on him in 1951, as shown in Mafia 2.

This new information about Mafia 4 should be considered a rumor until officially confirmed by Hangar 13 or 2K Games. Previously, we learned that the next Mafia game is in the early stages of development and will use Unreal Engine 5.
