Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary news is coming next month, according to Square Enix.
During a broadcast of the mobile battle royale game Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, director Tetsuya Nomura said that there will be some announcements about Final Fantasy VII in June. This could be a sign that Square Enix might release information about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, as it suggested that the game would be revealed sometime during its anniversary year.
June is also an important month as it contains exhibits and events where E3 traditionally takes place. Summer Game Fest airs June 9, while the Xbox and Bethesda showcase is June 12. Although Final Fantasy Remake hasn’t seen an Xbox release, it could be a possibility.
Additionally, Nomura said that he would like to show off the new Final Fantasy XVI trailer soon, and that it might also be revealed alongside the Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 news. Since Final Fantasy XVI is a timed exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently a PlayStation console exclusive, they could also appear in a future State of Play showcase.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PlayStation 4, while the Enhanced Intergrade version is currently on PlayStation 5 and PC via the Epic Games Store.
